"One of the things that Asian American farmers bring to the table is that they plant a lot more greens and vegetables that most people don’t eat unless you’re Asian American."

"One of the things I really, really appreciate about Asian American farmers is that they will supply your Asian Americans no matter how big or small. Who else is going to plant your Chinese broccoli, who’s going to be doing your other specialty vegetables like morning glory? Even with aquaculture and things like that, where can you buy certain types of fish or live turtles, other specialties that mostly minority groups or Asian folks eat."

"This has become big business. The local east coast chain here is H-Mart, California has 99-Ranch, who is supplying the produce for these grocery stores? Who’s supplying your pickled mustard or other things? These are all grown in the US, and the great thing about this is that they’re tapping sources from small rural farmers, small farmers who are actually planting these things. That’s their input."
